Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Civil Rights Attorney to advocate for justice and protect the rights of individuals who have experienced discrimination or abuse. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to civil rights law and will represent clients in various legal matters, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are upheld.

Key Responsibilities

Represent clients in civil rights cases, including 1983 claims and Title 42 litigation.
Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive legal documents.
Advocate for clients in court and during negotiations with opposing parties.
Investigate claims of civil rights violations, including prisoner abuse and police brutality.
Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on their rights and available remedies.
Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to promote awareness of civil rights issues.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
Proven experience as a Civil Rights Attorney, particularly in 1983 claims and Title 42 cases.
Strong understanding of civil rights law, including false imprisonment, police brutality, false arrest, excessive force, and unlawful stop and frisk.
Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Demonstrated commitment to civil rights and social justice.
