Civil Litigation Attorney - Professional Liability

The Cleveland office is seeking a motivated civil litigator to join the Professional Liability practice group. The firm provides a clear partnership pathway, a supportive team culture, and a comprehensive benefits package designed to promote both professional and personal success.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Represent clients in professional liability matters, including legal malpractice defense and disciplinary  proceedings.
  • Manage all phases of civil litigation in state and federal courts, from investigation through trial.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
  • Take and defend depositions, manage expert witnesses, and handle motion practice.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, courts, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

  •  Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Ohio law license.
  • 3+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Experience

  •  Defense of legal malpractice claims, including familiarity with case-within-a-case analysis.
  • Representation of attorneys in grievance investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
  • Experience with lawyer fiduciary representation in probate matters.
